ONLY SURRENDER
Hey gang,
God does not expect us to strengthen and maintain our own spiritual life!
WHAT?
That seems to be all I am trying to do! Isn’t that what we are supposed to be doing?
NO!
ONLY THE SOUL WHO LIVES IN ENTIRE SURRENDER TO AND DEPENDENCE ON THE SPIRIT CAN “EFFECTIVELY” CARRY ON GOD’S MIGHTY WORK AND ACCOMPLISH ALL HIS BLESSED PURPOSES!
Surrender is our goal, ONLY SURRENDER.
Relinquishing ourselves in whatever form that may be today….right now!
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
1 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
GUYS WE MUST BE RESOLVED TO KNOW NOTHING BUT CHRIST. That would be surrendering our hearts and minds to what we think about.
As we surrender we are GIVEN faith. As we surrender we are offering God our hearts and that is really ALL we can do and then God gives!
My desire is that we all surrender to Him and His power to do His will. If we truly did that we would be what Paul’s describes as preaching with a “demonstration of the Spirit’s power”! People around us would notice and want it more and more.
I know that I have spent soooooo much time in my life trying “with words” based on my understanding to convert people to what I BELIEVE is the “right” way of being a Christian. Although I do believe I am a Christian and have helped people find what I have already found….there is cleary soooo much more that I could be partaking in and sharing that has nothing to do with “wise and persuasive words”!.
How long have I believed that I needed just the right words to teach people where the kingdom starts and stops!? In other words I have been so concerned in the past about WHO is right (as in which people) while I try to teach WHAT is right and offer some words about how WE are right as I think I am teaching that GOD is right! I have blended so many things into the Gospel of Jesus as I have tried to delineate what and where the Kingdom is etc.
Luke 17:20-22 (NIV)
20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”[a]
The kingdom is in our midst (within you)! Don’t draw physical earthly lines for the kingdom….draw lines of conviction in your heart and keep the Kingdom where it belongs….in our hearts!
I want to surrender to God. I want others to SEE God and His power in me and know who God is as I simply share the Gospel! I want people to see relationships that are healed by God and marriages that are overflowing with love and other powerful acts of God rather than my script of HOW IT SHOULD BE. I want people to find the kingdom in my heart and invite them to be a part of it.
All this is from God and only accomplished by surrender!
There is no marketing success plan of action to follow, although some will try to package it all up like one….it all comes down to surrender and surrender alone!
